Margaret Greenwood MP with volunteer and GP Dr Henry Aldwinckle at Woodchurch Leisure Centre. A team of health staff and volunteers that has vaccinated more than 37,000 people against coronavirus at Woodchurch Leisure Centre has been praised by the local MP. Margaret Greenwood visited the venue to meet the team delivering the Healthier West Wirral Primary Care Network Covid-19 vaccination programme. Over 37,000 people have been vaccinated at the centre so far, with 93% of those eligible in priority groups 1-9 having taken up the offer. This includes people over 50 and those with health conditions that put them at higher risk of serious illness from Covid-19.
And since then, the uptake of jthe abs has decreased in some parts of the UK.
But a spokesperson for the Northamptonshire Covid-19 vaccination programme said today: “The Covid-19 vaccine is safe and effective and is our best protection against coronavirus. As with all vaccines the AstraZeneca vaccine is regulated by the MHRA, which is still encouraging people to continue getting the vaccine when asked to do, and we have full confidence in their expert judgement and processes. People eligible for the vaccine may be contacted by the national NHS Covid-19 Vaccination Booking Service or by their local GP inviting them to come forward to be vaccinated.
