BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The new weeks gets off to a nice start weather-wise, with plenty of sunshine prevailing again today. However, it will be a bit warmer as highs top out in the mid 80s this afternoon.
Clouds will return to the area overnight and it will be a milder start on Tuesday morning, with lows in the low 60s. And our beautiful weather the last couple of days will make a quick exit as showers and thunderstorms return to the area.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Keep an umbrella handy again today with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms remaining possible. While severe weather does not appear to be much of a threat, the Storm Prediction Center does have a Level 1/5 (marginal) risk of severe weather posted for SW Mississippi. Our most impactful weather is still slated for Wednesday as a potent upper-level storm system and associated cold front approach the region. Showers and thunderstorms will be likely from the afternoon into the evening hours, with the potential for a few strong to severe storms.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A chilly morning start gives way to a somewhat warmer afternoon compliments of returning sunshine. Highs will top out in the low 60s, while still below normal, it will feel much better than the 40s we were stuck in for most of the day on Tuesday.
Thursday morning will deliver one more chilly start in the upper 30s to low 40s before temperatures moderate just a bit to end the week. Highs will climb to around 70° on Thursday under mainly sunny skies.
