Not everyone gets wet today though, with rain chances running 50% or so, and highs topping out in the low 80s.
After a morning start in the mid 60s, highs will top out in the low 80s.

(WAFB) - Friday will start out fairly quiet, but numerous showers and t-storms will impact the area by late in the day and into tonight, with the potential for some of those storms to be strong to severe. In fact, the Storm Prediction Center has upgraded parts of the WAFB viewing area to a level 3/5 (enhanced) risk of severe weather late today into early Saturday. That enhanced risk extends from Lafayette through Baton Rouge to McComb, MS.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Keep an umbrella handy again today with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms remaining possible. While severe weather does not appear to be much of a threat, the Storm Prediction Center does have a Level 1/5 (marginal) risk of severe weather posted for SW Mississippi. Our most impactful weather is still slated for Wednesday as a potent upper-level storm system and associated cold front approach the region. Showers and thunderstorms will be likely from the afternoon into the evening hours, with the potential for a few strong to severe storms.
