Clive Makoni. A FORMER footballer who took his own life was found dead on the day he was due to appear in court to face a rape allegation. Clive Makoni, 26, of Burgess Road, Southampton, was found hanged at a Airbnb he was renting in Kings Somborne on September 9 last year. South London Magistrates Court confirmed that on the day he was found dead, the 26-year-old had been due to face a charge of rape and two other sexual assaults. Area coroner Jason Pegg said Mr Makoni s body was found by a cleaner. A post -mortem examination showed he was more than twice the drink-drive limit. He also had a low level of cocaine in his blood from previous recreational use.

Problematic potholes have formed on the A354 near the Stadium Roundabout and on Weymouth Avenue. Dorset Council staff are in the area on Tuesday, February 2 in order to repair the potholes. Traffic management measures are in place to protect the workers carrying out the roadworks. A spokesman for Travel Dorset said: Dorset Council need to carry out to urgent pothole repairs. One on the A354 a short distance before Stadium Roundabout and another on Weymouth Avenue on the opposite side of the roundabout. Traffic management will be in use for a short time. The urgent roadworks come after tree works on Weymouth Avenue opposite at Dorchester Town Football Club were completed ahead of schedule by the end of last week.
