Problematic potholes have formed on the A354 near the Stadium Roundabout and on Weymouth Avenue.
Dorset Council staff are in the area on Tuesday, February 2 in order to repair the potholes.
Traffic management measures are in place to protect the workers carrying out the roadworks.
A spokesman for Travel Dorset said: "Dorset Council need to carry out to urgent pothole repairs.
"One on the A354 a short distance before Stadium Roundabout and another on Weymouth Avenue on the opposite side of the roundabout.
"Traffic management will be in use for a short time."
The urgent roadworks come after tree works on Weymouth Avenue opposite at Dorchester Town Football Club were completed ahead of schedule by the end of last week.
