Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The CBJ Assembly voted to accept the former Cornerstone property back from Alaska Legacy Partners and are not committing to allowing a youth homeless shelter at that location
Alaska Legacy Partner had tried to develop senior housing at the property. They paid $350,000 to the CBJ.
The CBJ later supported another senior housing project with a $2 million grant at Vintage Park that was proposed by Torrey Pines Development.
The CBJ will keep the $35,000 down payment from Alaska Legacy Partners.
The property is now assessed at $430,000.
Tlingit and Haida Regional Housing Authority have indicated an interest in leasing the property for the shelter.
