Following the draw for the Menâs EHF EURO 2022 on Thursday evening, four players shared their thoughts on the results via an Instagram live â and one clear theme was apparent, aside from a desire to perform at the top level.
All four players interviewed â Hungaryâs Dominik Mathe, Lithuaniaâs Jonas Truchanovicius, Portugalâs Antoinia Areia and Germanyâs Marcel Schiller â hope for the chance to play in front of fans again. With tickets for all EHF EURO 2022 preliminary round matches set to be available from Friday, the organisers certainly share this hope of delivering the atmosphere that has made the pinnacle event so special in the past.

Following the conclusion of the qualifiers on Sunday, we take a look at the main talking points from a thrilling phase before we look forward to Thursday s final tournament draw.
Perfect Germany and Sweden; near-perfect Serbia
EHF EURO 2016 winners Germany and EHF EURO 2018 finalists Sweden were the only two teams to reach the end of the qualifiers with a perfect record of six wins.
Serbia came close to perfect, with five wins (including two assessed results against Belgium) and one draw.

Only one day after their clear 32:24 victory over Slovakia on Wednesday, Croatia were close to their first defeat in the EHF EURO Cup against the same opponent. A strong comeback in the last quarter of the game prevented the EHF EURO 2020 runners-up from a loss - now everything is set for a true final on Saturday.
On the other hand, EHF EURO 2022 hosts Slovakia fought hard, but are still waiting for their first points.

Hungary made it two from two against back-to-back EHF EURO champions Spain on Wednesday night, as they added a 30:28 win to the 32:29 result recorded in November. With what was their fourth victory overall, Hungary now have eight points on their account and lead the EHF EURO Cup 2022 table ahead of Croatia on six points and Spain, still on two.
