A tip that brought members of the Cape Coral police and Lee County Sheriff s Office to a possible crime scene in the city didn t pan out, a police official confirmed. In the middle of last week, interim Cape Coral Police Chief Tony Sizemore spoke at an excavation in the backyard of a home along Country Club Boulevard. There  Lee County Sheriff s crime scene technicians and others were digging, trying to see if a tip would produce results. Apparently, the tip was a bust. The tip didn t lead to anything, Sgt. Patrick O Grady, with the police public information office, said.
