331 PORT ORANGE, FL – Willard Lee Bowen III died on March 31, 2021, at the age of 92, in Port Orange, Fla. He was born in Torrington and was a longtime employee of the Torrington Company in the engineering and research department. He was a 1946 graduate of Torrington High School, and also received a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass. He is survived by his son, James W. Bowen of Port Orange, Fla., three grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was a founding member of Founders Congregational Church in Harwinton. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Aug. 1, at Founders Congregational Church, 41 Birge Park Rd., (Route 4) Harwinton.

January 13, 2021 Thomas P. Costick THOMASTON – Thomas P. Costick, 68, of Thomaston, passed away peacefully at Cook-Willow in Plymouth, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Tommy was born on Sept. 1, 1952, to Thomas G. and Dorothy P. (Craig) Costick. He lived his entire life in Thomaston and was a THS graduate, class of 1971. He was a member of the Sons of American Legion, Post 22 of Thomaston, and the Liederkrantz Men’s Club. Tom worked at Torrington Company for 33 years until his illness forced him to retire. “T.C.”, as he was known to his friends, was a kind, gentle soul. He enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He could often be found playing pool, whether in a tournament or just a friendly game. He won more than a few of those in his day. He also enjoyed playing cards and conversing with his friends at the club.
