PORT ORANGE, FL – Willard Lee Bowen III died on March 31, 2021, at the age of 92, in Port Orange, Fla.
He was born in Torrington and was a longtime employee of the Torrington Company in the engineering and research department. He was a 1946 graduate of Torrington High School, and also received a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass.
He is survived by his son, James W. Bowen of Port Orange, Fla., three grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was a founding member of Founders Congregational Church in Harwinton.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Aug. 1, at Founders Congregational Church, 41 Birge Park Rd., (Route 4) Harwinton.
