What a world it is, Steelers fans.
In our current reality, Tom Brady has been to four Super Bowls since Ben Roethlisberger has won his last playoff game. The Steelers have longer odds at the Super Bowl than the Cleveland Browns or Miami Dolphins. And their “retired” former offensive coordinator totaled more playoff wins this postseason than their current head coach has in the past decade.
And you thought 2020 was a weird year.
Now the Steelers, a former paragon of an NFL franchise, must look to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the team with the worst franchise winning percentage in NFL history for lessons on how to win a Super Bowl.
Godwin didn’t make much of an impact in the game with just two catches for nine yards. However, he played a crucial role in the Bucs’ overall postseason success, setting an all-time franchise record with 232 receiving yards in a single postseason. Godwin finished the playoffs with 16 catches and one touchdown as well.

After the game, Godwin reflected on the Super Bowl win and the team’s spirit and mindset.
“Everybody in the locker room, we believed,” Godwin said. “You know, we believed, we persevered, we fought together, we band together as brothers, and that’s why we’re champions.”

The Kansas City Chiefs offense earns the vast majority of the team s headlines for good reason but Kansas City s defensive renaissance can largely be thanked for the team s back-to-back trips to the Super Bowl.
Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo came to Kansas City after the team s 2018-19 AFC Championship Game loss to Tom Brady s New England Patriots. That offseason also brought the hard-to-overstate addition of safety Tyrann Mathieu and a handful of other major personnel changes. Since then, the Chiefs defense has been on a steady rise to where they find themselves now: a legitimately solid defensive unit that has consistently played its best in the playoffs.
Andy Reidâs GM Tree Is Sprawling and Covers Both Super Bowl Sidelines
Most people know about Reidâs successful coaching tree, but the scouts and personnel men who worked with him in Philly have also made an impact across the NFL.

Jason Licht doesn’t remember how much time Brett Veach spent in his office back then, nor did either guy think much of it at the time. Licht was a top lieutenant for then Eagles GM Tom Heckert. Veach was working as Eagles boss Andy Reid’s personal assistant and hadn’t even begun to think he’d wind up on a scouting track he was just there to get his start in coaching, trying to soak up as much football as he could.
