The Saints’ last hurrah is approaching – rapidly approaching.
According to
OverTheCap.com, New Orleans is $95 million over the 2021 salary cap – even if quarterback Drew Brees decides to retire.
That’s assuming that the cap will be near the projected floor of
$176 million, but sources have told PewterReport.com that instead of a near $25 million decrease in the 2021 cap due to lost stadium revenue, the league may decide to have a flat cap of $198 million again and keep it flat without any growth for the next couple of years to make up for the losses during the COVID-ridden 2020 season.
Either way, the Saints are toast.

We’re just a few days away from the start of a 36-hour period that will be filled with full do-or-die NFL playoff games. Here are the top individual matchups of the NFL Divisional Round:
Davante Adams vs. Jalen Ramsey: Packers-Rams will feature one of the league’s top three receivers against one of the league’s top three cornerbacks. Adams was a first-team All-Pro with an NFL-high 18 touchdowns this season, while Ramsey received the same honor after averaging just 5.0 yards per target. Both are four-time Pro Bowlers.
It was the first playoff win of Godwin’s career, as well as the first playoff win for the Bucs since their Super Bowl win all the way back on January 26, 2003.
The Bucs will need a repeat performance from Godwin when they travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints Sunday night.
Allen Robinson, Chicago Bears
Robinson was one of the only bright spots for the Bears in their 21-9 loss to the Saints. He posted a team-high six receptions worth 55 yards on seven targets and picked up two first downs in the contest.
On a day when the Bears struggled to get anything going offensively, Robinson accounted for nearly 28% of all of Chicago’s receiving yards and almost 32% of its receptions.
When he was needed most, left tackle Donovan Smith stepped up in one of the toughest matchups all year, eliminating Chase Young from being a problem in the Wild Card Round.
