Belleville Downtown District looking for sponsors and artists to support new seating project

There are some neat things happening in downtown Belleville! The team with Downtown District BIA are getting ready to help us enjoy the warmer weather. The BIA has purchased eight Tête-à-têtes or Adirondack-inspired chairs, to place downtown. They are looking to the local arts community to come up with unique designs to be painted on them, similar to the parklets that were done last year. The chairs will be set up as apart of the Al Fresco season that will be running in downtown from June to the end of August. The BIA is looking for sponsors to help cover the costs for the chairs, supplies and fees for the local artists.

Article content The Downtown District Buisness Improvement Area is looking for personal and corporate sponsorship to help to cover the costs associated with the purchase of tête-à-têtes, as well as the fees and supplies for the eight local artists who will be chosen to paint the unique seating. Tête-à-têtes are Adirondack-inspired chairs joined together by a table and equipped with large umbrellas. The BIA have purchased eight units and the local arts community has been asked to submit designs for the projects. Tête-à-têtes are perfect for enjoying take-out with a friend or taking shelter from the sun and will be placed along the sidewalks and street closure in the downtown core for Al Fresco, the popular summer event, from the beginning of June to the end of August.
