Dear Editor: As the charade intensifies, the Nuclear Waste Management Organization have devised even more illusional strategies in their quest to try to prove we all need and want a radioactive waste dump. Back to video At a recent council meeting, (NWMO backed) project manager, Dave Rushton declared that he and his consultants will be engaged in no less than 40 studies of South Bruce. Tens of thousands of nuclear industry dollars, gleaned from our hydro bills, are being funnelled through our council for one study that will examine how to determine willingness. In other words, are we willing to be willingly manipulated into thinking we will willingly forgo the need for a referendum?

At the Feb. 4 virtual meeting of the South Bruce Community Liaison Committee (CLC) attendees learned about the study plan that will begin this year for defining partnership. This work will build on studies completed in 2012 to establish baseline conditions in a number of areas, including employment and workforce, housing, infrastructure improvements, economics, health and agricultural sector effects, property values and others.
