Residents of congested Oxfordshire towns want new traffic restrictions to stop lorries shaking historic buildings and straining ancient bridges. Councillors have called for the new restrictions to be brought in to the areas of Burford, Chipping Norton, and Henley in an effort to stop HGVs driving through them and causing damage to structures. This is what Oxford Mail readers thought about the proposed new measures:
David Cameron-Young: “People will soon moan when shops have empty shelves and garages have no fuel. “Yes, lorries can be a pain, but they are a necessity.”
Rod Mckenzie: “Without lorries we get nothing. No lorry driver goes out for fun - every journey is essential.
Keshana Jones: I’ll go just for the chocolate Frosty
Darren Krystie: Let’s hope they expand to other parts of the UK. I absolutely love Wendy’s burgers and the Wendy’s Frosty
Loren Jose: Looking forward. I want my ice tea and Frosty
Gareth Swann: Awesome. Had a Wendy’s last time I was in America. Way better than McDonald’s and Burger King
Michael Russell: Awesome. Also, try checking out their Twitter. It’s savage
Kevin Keogh: They used to be in London. Great burgers
Leanne Marie: Didn’t rate it in America, walked straight out of one. doubt here will be any different. I think I’d rather invest in the local businesses struggling currently
Here is what readers of the Oxford Mail had to say about the new travel restrictions: Tony Williams: Good lockdown is lockdown. They will soon be unhappy if their family get Covid-19 and get really bad with it. It needs to be done and should have done this from day one. Philip Babu Raj: Politicians all over the world are weird what was suppose to be done when the pandemic started suddenly they woke up from slumber sleep with slapping with rules and regulations and fines. Sometimes I wonder the jokers who advises these plans. If all these steps were taken much earlier we would not be in this state today better late than never.
