Bird scooters deploying 75-vehicle fleet in Bartlesville

Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise The Bartlesville City Council voted Monday to enter an agreement with Bird Rides, the second motorized scooter company to expand to the city.  The one-year contract allows the company to deploy a fleet of 75 dockless electric scooters throughout Bartlesville. According to city documents, Bird approached the City Council in December, weeks after Lime scooters were deployed. Community Development Director Lisa Beeman has said the scooters help the city meet a transportation goal. “That is, to provide safe and affordable multi-modal transportation options to all residents,” she said. Bird scooters will be subject to the same ordinances as Lime, with users prohibited from riding on downtown sidewalks, but able to park them on sidewalks as long as the vehicles do not obstruct foot traffic.

City Of Bartlesville Begins Campaign To Remind Residents To Follow CDC Guidelines

City Of Bartlesville Begins Campaign To Remind Residents To Follow CDC Guidelines The City of Bartlesville is starting a new campaign to remind people about the following CDC guidelines.  Mayor Dale Copeland said the city is starting the campaign due to the high number of cases the city has seen. The city will reinforce the importance of mask-wearing, hand washing, and physical distancing and the plans to use anything from billboards, magazines and even social media to get the message across.  The City of Bartlesville currently does not have a mask ordinance in place and Mayor Copeland said that he wants to give the new campaign a chance to take effect before any further decisions are made.
