Will.i.am launches smart mask with built-in headphones and charging port

will.i.am is launching a smart mask.
The Black Eyed Peas rapper has joined forces with Honeywell and costume designer Jose Fernandez on a XUPERMASK, which protects you from coronavirus as well as featuring noise-cancelling headphones, a charging port and LED lights.
He told the New York Times newspaper: We are living in sci-fi times. The pandemic is straight out of a friggin movie. We are wearing masks from yesterday s movie. So I wanted to make a mask to fit the era that we re in.

The future is now – and rapper will.i.am is here to help usher it in.
The Black Eyed Peas frontman is the person behind the world’s first “smart mask.”
When he wore a gas mask-like contraption during the group’s performance at the MTV VMAs last year, he reportedly caught the attention of Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff.

US musician and entrepreneur Will.i.am has teamed up with industrial company Honeywell to produce a high-tech face mask, which costs $299.
The mask, called Xupermask, will be launched on Thursday and will have features such as noise-cancellation earbuds, microphones, Bluetooth support, replaceable filtration systems, LED lights and multi-function button controls.
Xupermask allows users to answer phone calls, play music and they have a tight seal over the nose to prevent glasses from fogging.
“We created Xupermask to change the game of our new normal,” said Will.i.am, whose full name is William Adams. Xupermasks are powered by a rechargeable battery that lasts up to seven hours on a single charge. Courtesy Honeywell
