MADISON, Wis. – Public Health Madison Dane County’s newest health order allows businesses to operate at 75 percent capacity, while indoor events with food/drink can be as large as 350, and without food/drink can be as large as 500.
For restaurants, the 75 percent capacity limit can be deceiving. While it’s a considerable jump from 50 percent capacity, social distancing requirements leave them with no places to put customers.
“As far as amount of people in here I don’t think it’s going to change a lot If you’re still having to social distance,” said Tonya Patten, owner of Draft House in Verona.

MADISON, Wis. Public health officials in Dane County are issuing a new public health order, greatly easing capacity limits for every business in the county starting next week.
Public Health Madison and Dane County’s Emergency Order #16 will take effect on May 5th and run through June 2nd. Health data shows Dane County continues to be a leader in vaccinations and that supply remains high for providers in the region.

MADISON, Wis. Nationwide, more than 90% of people who have gotten their first dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine are going back to get their second dose. In Dane County, though, residents are returning to get their second dose at even higher rates.
Health officials with Public Health Madison & Dane County said Wednesday that a whopping 99% of people have not only returned for their second Moderna or Pfizer shot, but they did so within the proper time frame.
In a tweet shared Wednesday morning, the health department said the numbers are subject to change, “but it’s awesome to see such high completion so far!”
MADISON, Wis. Dane County Executive Joe Parisi is announcing a new multi-million dollar investment over the next two years he says will help transition people experiencing homelessness from hotels into homes as the county continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The $13 million investment over the next two months was announced during a virtual press conference Friday.
The county has been helping house people with nowhere to call home in hotels during the pandemic, with the goal of reducing shelter populations and communal living situations to prevent the spread of COVID among people experiencing homelessness. The program was slated to run through June 30th and will continue through August 31st thanks to support from federal COVID relief funding. So far more than 900 households in the county have been helped through the hotel program.
