More than 10 percent of people in Dane County have received the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the latest numbers from Public Health Madison and Dane County. The county updates its vaccination data twice a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays. In their latest update, they say a total of 56,798 people in Dane County have now been vaccinated. Of those people, 28.9% are in the 65+ age group that is currently being prioritized. A total of 18,132 people, or 3.3% of the county, have completed all doses of the vaccine.

Ag Briefs: State FFA chapters receive $20,000 for COVID-19 challenges FFA chapters across state receive $20,000 in grants The Wisconsin FFA Foundation and Wisconsin FFA Alumni & Supporters Association have partnered to provide $20,000 in grants to local chapters facing challenges posed by COVID-19. Forty chapters each received $500, from Amherst to Medford and Pittsville to Wisconsin Dells. Dane Co. safety crews respond to 3 water rescues, advise public to avoid walking on developing ice December 18, 2020 11:29 AM Logan Rude Updated: MADISON, Wis. Dane County safety and parks officials are urging the public to stay off of the ice because conditions are unsafe for on-ice activities. While many of the of Dane County’s lakes, lagoons and ice rinks may look frozen, officials said the ice is not stable, consistent or safe. Marine and Trail deputies with the Dane County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that they responded to three rescue calls on Friday alone. One person fell through the ice on Mudd Lake while ice fishing, but he was able to get himself out of the water.
