The agreement indicates Bonneville County will have no involvement in the case. It will be up to the AG’s office to investigate and prosecute the case if needed.
If the AG’s office does decide criminal charges are warranted, then a draft document to appoint the AG’s office as a special prosecutor in the case will follow.
While the AG’s office is investigating the case, the county will still be responsible for out-of-pocket expenses, including costs for witnesses, subpoenas, lodging and travel done outside of a state-owned vehicle.
Little is known about the exact moments of the shooting. The Idaho Falls Police Department has said Johnson was wearing a black shirt the same color as the suspect when the officer pulled the trigger. Police have also said Johnson had a gun and that an officer told him to drop it.

MASON, Ohio (FOX19) - Kings Island opened for the season Saturday with new mark restrictions, debuting the park’s fastest roller coaster yet.
Kings Island guidelines say people don’t have to wear masks when going on rides outside, but they do have to wear them inside.
People at the park Saturday say they saw a mixture; some people kept them on, others left them behind.
“I’m sick of it truly because it makes your face rash out sometimes, and it just doesn’t show your face that it’s beautiful, so I don’t like it,” says guest Kimauni Ilijin.

Councils are facing the logistical nightmare of trying to meet physically while abiding by social distancing guidelines after a bid to allow the continuation of online council meetings was rejected by the High Court.
The emergency legislation allowing virtual council meetings will not be extended beyond May 7 – and on Wednesday, the High Court dismissed the appeal, with judges saying primary legislation would be needed to extend the use of online meetings and it was not for the courts to set that legislation.
