Three shepherd s huts which would act as holiday accommodation are proposed on the Northumberland/Cumbria border. Stephen Bowman has submitted an application to Northumberland County Council to refurbish a bunk house at Churnsyke Lodge, in Gilsland, into the huts. Plans to convert a band hall into two homes again face objections from a town council. Haltwhistle Town Council chose to again object to plans that would see the band hall, located on Comb Hill Road, being turned into two homes, with two parking bays also being created to the front of the location. In a meeting earlier this week, Haltwhistle Town Council decided to object to the proposals after concerns were raised over highway access. Plans for the work had previously been submitted last year, but were rejected by Northumberland County Council on the same grounds. But applicant Daniel Armstrong, of Corbridge-based Daniel Armstrong Associates, has returned with a new application, which again has not found favour with the local town council who raised similar concerns with the original application.
Landowners in a Northumberland town want to transform a band hall into two homes. According to the planning application submitted to Northumberland County Council, the applicant is looking to transform the band hall on Comb Hill Road in Haltwhistle to create two houses for market. The agent acting on behalf of the applicant is Daniel Armstrong Associates, who are based at the Corbridge Business Centre. They hope that the Band Hall, which is no longer in use, can be converted into two, two-bedroom homes across two stories. Though there are currently zero parking bays by the band hall, the proposed development will see two spaces created on-site.
