Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday alleged the Congress fights elections to help the BJP win, and asserted the main contest in the upcoming local body polls in Gujarat is between the ruling BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party. Talking to reporters ahead of his roadshow in Surat, Sisodia claimed the people of Gujarat are looking at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as a strong political alternative and with a hope to defeat the BJP, which has ruled various local bodies in the state for more than two decades. Elections to six municipal corporations - Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Jamnagar and Bhavnagar - will be held on February 21.

Corona time was very difficult but we had to deal with it maturely because of which the schools were closed. 15 days ago the schools were opened for 10th and 12th class students. I am happy that our 9th and 11th class students have also rejoined the schools. I can see their happy faces. It is a challenge to open schools during the pandemic, but we have accepted it, Sisodia told ANI.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday urged the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to treat Delhi at par with the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir as regards providing share from Central Taxes and Central Assistance to Union Territories, and the Disaster Response Fund. During the pre-budget meeting with the finance ministers of all states, and the union territories with the Union Finance Minister for the budget of 2021-2022, Sisodia pointed out that the other state governments received financial assistance from the Disaster Response Fund, but not Delhi.
