Telenor Pakistan Joins Hands with HUM Network to Raise Funds for SIUT
In its ongoing efforts to empower Pakistanis from every walk of life, Telenor Pakistan has partnered with HUM Network to support SIUT (Sindh Institute for Urology and Transplant), in its fund-raising campaign.
The organization will support SIUT’s fund-raising efforts by matching public donations made to the institution via Momina and Duraid Foundation’s EasyPaisa account. A telethon was held today on HUM news to encourage people to donate to this noble cause.
The on-air event was attended by renowned philanthropist and founder of SIUT, Dr. Adibul Hasan Rizvi, acclaimed actors, Sania Saeed, Javaid Sheikh, Sultana Siddiqui, founder HUM network, Irfan Wahab Khan, CEO Telenor Pakistan and Duraid Qureshi, CEO HUM Network among others.
PTA Receives Rs. 15.82 Billion Against Second Installment Of License Renewal Fee
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has received Rs 15.82 billion (the equivalent of USD 103.17 million) against the second installment of license renewal fee from two Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs); Telenor Pakistan and Pakistan Mobile Communication Ltd. (Jazz).
The amount is being deposited in Federal Consolidated Fund (FCF) as per practice under Pakistan Telecom Re-organization Act 1996, said PTA in an official handout.
PTA has so far deposited Rs 135.81 billion (the equivalent of USD 862.22 million) with the government, received against 50 percent of the total license renewal fee and first installment of the same from three CMOs. With the amount of the second installment received from two CMOs now, the total receipts on this count have become Rs 151.63 billion (USD 965.39 million). The second license renewal fee installment of CMPAK (ZONG) for USD 54.086 is due in October 2021.

ISLAMABAD: Cellular subscriptions in Pakistan crossed the 183 million mark by the end of March 2021 from 178.97m in January, figures shared by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Saturday showed.
Mainly owing to pressures from the education sector in the wake of Covid-19 lockdowns, authorities have been expanding internet infrastructure in the country for more than a year. Broadband penetration reached 46.4 per cent of the country by the end of March 2021 compared to 44.6pc in January earlier this year.
While 4G users grew from 66m in January to 74m in March, broadband subscriptions including 98m 3G and 4G subscribers topped 101m in the same period.
Mobile subscribers cross 183m mark
Jazz continues to dominate with 37.80% subscribers

Cellular subscriptions in Pakistan have crossed the 183 million mark, as per the latest figures updated by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). Broadband subscriptions have also crossed 101 million including 98 million 3G and 4G subscribers. According to the cellular market share, Jazz continues to dominate with 37.80% subscribers, followed by Telenor Pakistan 26.71%, Zong 21.90%, Ufone 12.81% and SCO 0.77%. The number of obsolete 3G users has dropped from 25.2 million in December 2020 to 24 million by the end of March 2021. During the reporting period, 4G users have grown from 66 million to 74 million. In terms of 4G market share, Jazz leads this segment as well with 28.86 million 4G subscribers, followed by Zong with 22.49 million, Telenor Pakistan 16.10 million, Ufone six million and SCO 0.7 million.
