Police: 6 robberies, 4 thefts from U of M students since May 6

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The University of Minnesota s Department of Public Safety is warning students of recent robberies and thefts in the Dinkytown and Stadium Village area.
According to officials, there have been four aggravated robberies, two robberies and four thefts since May 6. All of the incidents involved the taking of cell phones from U of M students.

A series of robberies and thefts near the University of Minnesota led public officials to issue a warning to students Tuesday.
On May 9 at about 3 p.m., a robbery was reported at University Avenue Southeast and 14th Avenue. The suspect took the victim’s cell phone and fled in a vehicle. The victim was struck by the fleeing vehicle and sustained minor injuries. The suspect is described as a late-teens or early-20s male with a thin build, wearing a gray t-shirt and black jeans. The long-anticipated, $320 million project began mid-January, aiming to rebuild old roads and bridges and improve the interchange s “abrupt curve” design. It s also dangerous, according to Indiana Department of Transportation numbers that show crash rates more than twice as high as the state s other urban interstates.
Which parts of the interchange will close?
Though Indianapolis traffic has already been impacted by closures related to the project, this upcoming closure is the big one, impacting as many as 200,000 vehicles each day.
During this closure, expected to last until June 2022, I-65 and I-70 between the North Split and Washington Street will be fully closed to all traffic.

Julie Walrand of Berkeley can be heard yelling racial slurs at Amazon driver Kendall McIntosh in a video recording of the April 18 incident, according to KTVU. I never wanted this to happen. Who is Julie Warland?
The 35-year-old lives on Delaware Street in Berkeley. Not much is known about Warland, as we couldn t find a Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn account linked to her. We couldn t find the name of her boyfriend, who is also accused of using racial slurs against McIntosh. At the time of reporting, Warland has not yet been charged, but the police have hinted that she could be.
