HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - After halting the event for nearly a year, the Hilton Hawaiian Village put on its Waikiki Starlight Luau for a room full of guests on Friday.
The Waikiki Starlight Luau is usually held on the beachfront “Great Lawn” at the resort, but due to bad weather the show was moved to one of the ballrooms.
According to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Managing Director Debi Bishop, their first show was sold out with 150 guests in attendance.

The largest Hilton Hotel in the world and Hawaii’s largest resort on Oahu – Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki, reopened on Dec. 15, 2020. Situated on 22 oceanfront acres of Waikiki’s widest stretch of beach, opening day was a celebration.
There was a Hawaiian blessing held with Hilton Hawaiian Village staff and tenants, and the first guest group to check-in received a complimentary upgrade to the Niumalu Suite in the Rainbow Tower, a gift bag and beautiful lei.

Largest Hawaii resort partially reopens after virus closure

HONOLULU The partial reopening of Hawaii’s largest hotel property is expected give work back to 250 to 300 employees after it shut down in April because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort reopened one of its hotel towers on Tuesday and many of its restaurants also resumed operations. A second tower is scheduled to open on Friday.
The partial restart will open up about 1,100 rooms and provide jobs for some of the almost 2,000 employees who worked at the complex before it closed on April 13, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported.
