A house in Old Town designed by noted architect Bertrand Goldberg with a large street-front atrium is on the market for the first time in two decades.
Because of the rounded front, “it reminds me of Marina City,” the beloved twin corncob towers on the Chicago River that are Goldberg’s best-known project, said owner Dennis Meyers.
Meyers is asking just under $1.5 million for the three-bedroom, 3,600-square-foot house on LaSalle Drive a few doors north of North Avenue. The house is represented by Emily Sachs Wong of @properties.
Aside from the front door, the facade is nearly all glass, a tall rounded bay. Inside, the atrium is two stories high, which allows ample daylight into the home.
