Kem Hinton of Nashville, principal of an architecture firm and designer of Tennessee s Bicentennial Capitol Mall and new Library and Archives building;
Dr. Bill Kennedy of Jonesborough, a longtime orthopedic surgeon who received the Tennessee Historical Commission s Preservation Leadership Award last year;
The Rev. Frank Stevenson of Nashville, dean of students at Tennessee State University and pastor of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church;
Hanes Torbett of Johnson City, the owner of an insurance firm; and

Dolly Parton said she was offered the Presidential Medal of Freedom by former President Donald Trump s administration on two separate occasions, but turned both requests down, according to a report.
Parton, 75, made the revelation during an interview on Today with Hoda & Jenna, which will air on Tuesday morning. I couldn t accept it because my husband was ill and then they asked me again about it and I wouldn t travel because of the COVID, she said.

Security increased at Tennessee Capitol for Inauguration Day
The FBI has warned about potential armed protests at all 50 state capitols leading up to and on Inauguration Day.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â Security is ramped up at the Tennessee State Capitol for the possibility of violent protests like the one in Washington D.C. two weeks ago.
The FBI warned about potential armed protests at all 50 state capitols leading up to and on Inauguration Day. There haven t been any protests so far, and that s what law enforcement is hoping for today, as well.
Far more security and journalists, than protestors.
