History, trends of music highlighted

Speaking as chief guest at the launching of a book titled ‘Salateen-e-Dehli wa Shahaan-e-Mughlia ka Zauq-e-Moseeqi’ arranged by the National Institute of Historical and Cultural Research, Vice Chancellor, Quaid-i-Azam University, Prof Dr Mohammad Ali, said that Prof M. Aslam has elaborately highlighted the history and trends of music during the Sultans of Delhi and the Mughal periods in his book, says a press release. Senior Research Fellow of the NIHCR, Dr. Rahat Zubair Malik, moderated the event.
Prof Dr Mohammad Hussain Azad, commenting on the book, said that music and musical instruments were created in South Asia by the descendants of Hazrat Adam (AS). The universe has been in rhythm since then.

The dismal performance of PTI in the by-election of NA-249 Karachi is reflective of the growing under-confidence and distrust that people are increasingly demonstrating on the ability of the PTI government to address their woes. PPP won this seat after a huge gap of 23 years. Given the general disinterest and low turnout of voters in this by-election, it will be difficult for the PPP winner to claim that he rode to victory on the shoulders of people’s power. I think the victory was more determined by the majority of people that boycotted the elections and chose to stay back home.
