Trim District Court has been told Gardaí hope to have an update soon on the preparation of a book of evidence to be served on an 80-year-old man accused of arson following a house fire, three months ago.
Court presenter Sergeant Kevin Moroney informed Judge Deirdre Gearty that the book was under preparation at the moment and he hoped to have an update for the court later this month in relation to charges against Peter O’Brien of St Michael s, Beauparc, Navan.
He was initially charged with arson and with endangering two named women at the same address on 19th May last and was last week further charged with assaulting both women.

An 80-year-old man has appeared in court for the second time in connection with a house fire in Navan last week.
Peter O Brien of St Michael s, Beauparc appeared at Trim District Court today by video link.
He has been charged with arson and with endangering the lives of two women at his address on May 19th.
Judge Cormac Dunne further remanded Mr O Brien in custody to appear at Trim District Court on June 1st.
