Court told an update is expected soon on Book of Evidence in case of man (80) accused of arson

LMFM By Paul Murphy The defendant appeared before the vacation court sitting in Trim via videolink Trim District Court has been told Gardaí hope to have an update soon on the preparation of a book of evidence to be served on an 80-year-old man accused of arson following a house fire, three months ago. Court presenter Sergeant Kevin Moroney informed Judge Deirdre Gearty that the book was under preparation at the moment and he hoped to have an update for the court later this month in relation to charges against Peter O’Brien of St Michael s, Beauparc, Navan.  He was initially charged with arson and with endangering two named women at the same address on 19th May last and was last week further charged with assaulting both women. 

Man jailed for two months for refusing to wear face mask in Navan

LMFM By Paul Murphy Judge Cormac Dunne said that his actions in the middle of a global pandemic constituted an offence on the higher end of the scale.  A 27-year-old man who refused to wear a face mask at Navan Shopping Centre has been jailed for two months at Trim District Court today. Martin Stokes with an address at The Old Mill, Rivermill, Navan appeared in court charged with a breach of COVID-19 regulations at Penneys Store and the shopping centre itself on December 7th last.  Judge Cormac Dunne said that his actions in the middle of a global pandemic constituted an offence on the higher end of the scale.
