NYPD: Man found in New Springville with apparent gunshot wound to head

A law enforcement source said the cause of death is suspected to be a suicide.
Officers responded to the scene, located opposite of the 800 block of Travis Avenue, at around 2:10 p.m. and discovered the man unconscious and unresponsive, according to an NYPD spokesman.
Multiple NYPD and FDNY vehicles were observed on scene, with members of both departments seen walking along a densely-wooded path away from a main walking and biking trail that runs through the area.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Richmond Hill Road, from Forest Hill Road to Arthur Kill Road, will be closed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday for spring cleaning.
The city Parks Department, in collaboration with Borough President James Oddo and Councilman Steven Matteo (R-Mid-Island), announced the cleanups in late March.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A beloved businesswoman has been paralyzed after a disturbing crash where the driver of the car she was riding in intentionally slammed the vehicle into a tree, authorities allege.
Robert Mustari, 48, of Slater Boulevard in Midland Beach, was driving with Diana Petrone in the passenger seat around 1 a.m. on Dec. 12 in New Springville when the crash occurred, according to a criminal complaint.
