MERIDENÂ â A man suffered non-life threatening injuries in a reported home invasion Monday night.Â
The incident occurred at a home on Old Colony Road around 7:30 p.m. Two adults and a child were in the home at the time, Sgt. Darrin McKay, police spokesman, said Tuesday.
Two suspects, apparently unknown to the residents, entered and took some jewelry and a cell phone, McKay said. Police found the cell phone in a parking lot.
 Officers were on scene until about 12:23 a.m. Tuesday. No other information was available.Â

MERIDENÂ â One day before National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, the Meriden Council of Neighborhoods provided breakfast and supper for officers on Friday.Â
Today has been designated National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day by the U.S. Department of Justice.
âItâs a way to honor police officers for everything they do every single day. Their hard work, commitment and all the effort they put into our neighborhoods never goes unrecognized,â said Holly Wills, president of the neighborhood group.Â

MERIDENÂ â A local man faces weapon and drug charges after police said he fled from officers following a car crash early Wednesday.
Julian Dudley, 27, of 36 Webster St., 3rd Floor, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, weapon in a motor vehicle, no pistol permit, possession of a high capacity magazine, possession of narcotics, and possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana.Â
On Wednesday around 2:30 a.m. a patrol officer saw an erratic driver but lost sight of the vehicle as it tried to elude the officer on South Colony Road, Sgt. Darrin McKay said in a release. MERIDENÂ â Police released details regarding a shooting on July 5 at the Meriden Inn following an arrest earlier this week.Â
Stephan Kenyon Coney, 29, of 925 Oronoke Rd., Unit 25E, Waterbury, was charged Tuesday with first-degree assault, criminal possession of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit.Â
Coney is accused of shooting a man in the leg at the Meriden Inn, 1102 E. Main St., on July 5, Sgt. Darrin McKay said Friday. There was a previous dispute between Coney and the man that was shot, but the details about the dispute were unclear, McKay added. The man suffered non-life threatening injuries.Â
