Police release details about July 5 shooting in Meriden  Police release details about July 5 shooting in Meriden  December 18, 2020 05:49PM By Lauren Sellew, Record-Journal staff MERIDEN — Police released details regarding a shooting on July 5 at the Meriden Inn following an arrest earlier this week.  Stephan Kenyon Coney, 29, of 925 Oronoke Rd., Unit 25E, Waterbury, was charged Tuesday with first-degree assault, criminal possession of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit.  Coney is accused of shooting a man in the leg at the Meriden Inn, 1102 E. Main St., on July 5, Sgt. Darrin McKay said Friday. There was a previous dispute between Coney and the man that was shot, but the details about the dispute were unclear, McKay added. The man suffered non-life threatening injuries.
