Analysts had expected the company to report consolidated net profit of Rs 1,470 crore for the reported quarter.

HAIFA BAY, Israel (AP) Taro Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (TARO) on Tuesday reported a loss of $18.8 million in its fiscal first quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Haifa Bay, Israel-based company said it had a loss of 50 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.09 per share.
The drug maker posted revenue of $147.1 million in the period.
Taro shares have fallen nearly 4% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $70.74, an increase of nearly 9% in the last 12 months.
