Danbury Concert Chorus Virtual Messiah Concert, December 20 Written by Danbury Music Centre
The Danbury Concert Chorus is presenting its first virtual Messiah concert on Sunday, December 20 at 3 pm when it will be released on the Danbury Music Centre’s Facebook page and website.
During normal times the Danbury Concert Chorus presents Handel’s Messiah at a local church, but the pandemic has sidelined choral and choir singing owing to the high risk of spreading infection. Since September, the chorus has been rehearsing, virtually, with its director, Dr. Jason Thoms. Dr. Thoms recently re-located to Bismarck, North Dakota where he now teaches, but distance is no barrier to singing together, while apart. Chorus members and their friends around the country have been rehearsing and preparing videos since September. The concert will include professional soloists from New York and Bismarck and the Danbury Symphony Chamber Orchestra.
