The Danbury Music Centre is presenting An Evening of Chamber Music tonight, at the Centre’s Anderson Recital Hall on Main Street in Danbury. Members will perform in their chamber ensembles to raise money for the programs of the Danbury Music Centre. Donations will be accepted at the door, and parking is available on the street and in the Bardo Parking Garage directly behind the Danbury Music Centre on Library Place. Handicapped parking is available in the garage adjacent to the elevators.
The State University of New York student who was killed in an apparently random shooting just steps from her college campus is being remembered as a "force" who was not only talented, but "touched the lives of everyone she met," according to a recently published obituary.
In 1801, Danbury, CT Baptists crafted a letter to then President Thomas Jefferson. They were expressing their frustration with the amount of influence the Congregational churches had over decisions in the Danbury area. The Baptists argued that it's not religious groups that should set the taxes, or move the economy, these decisions should be made independent of any religion.
