Responding Together: Delivering humanitarian assistance in response to the massive fire in Rohingya refugee camps Format Burnt cooking utensils lay on the ground in Kutupalong Camp. © WFP/Mehedi Rahman On March 22, 2021 a massive fire swept through the densely populated Rohingya refugee camps in Cox s Bazar, Bangladesh leaving some 10,100 households without shelter and affecting nearly 48,300 people. The Logistics Sector responded to the crisis by supporting partner organisations with coordination, information management and facilitation of access to common services from the onset of the tragedy. In response to the crisis, the Logistics Sector organised an ad hoc coordination meeting to immediately assess the needs of partners and made Mobile Storage Units (MSU) and equipment from the preparedness stock available to partners to support the response.

EU engages Dowa politicians-to-be in district mock council meetings

Dan Church Aid (DCA) and Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) in conjunction with Women Legal Resources Centre (WOLREC) on Tuesday organized a mock council meeting in Dowa District targeting youthful aspiring politicians from various Young Women Action Groups (YWAGs). The aim of the meeting was to impart knowledge to the aspiring politicians how council meetings are done and also assuring them that everyone is eligible to handle a political position. Think tank urges parties to include young women in top leadership positions

A political think tank has urged parties in the country to consider young women for top leadership positions. The organisation’s Chief of Party, Augustine Magolowondo made the appeal Tuesday in Dowa during interface with political party governors in Dowa and youths and advised them to stop the tendency of receiving allowances for sustainability of projects.
