Daniel Norman Dumas, 30, Minot, was sentenced on Wednesday to 10 years in prison, with a requirement that he serve 18 months, and three years of probation for intent to deliver oxycodone and methamphetamine in Minot on July 13, 2020. The state dismissed a Class C felony possession of cocaine charge and a Class A misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia under the terms of a plea deal.
North Central District Court Judge Todd Cresap also ordered Dumas to obtain a chemical dependency evaluation and to pay $1,350 in court costs. Dumas will receive credit for the 228 days he has already served in the Ward County Jail.

Mylo Scott Dawson Spotted Horse Jr., 33, Minot, was sentenced last Wednesday to 360 days in jail, all suspended but the 10 days he already served, and three years of supervised probation for exposing children to drugs in his home on Sept. 11.
The Class C felony will be deemed a Class A misdemeanor if he successfully completes probation. Judge Todd Cresap also ordered Spotted Horse to complete a parenting class, to continue to cooperate with Ward County Social Services regarding the children and to pay $1,100 in court costs.
Mylo Spotted Horse Jr. also pleaded guilty to Class C felony criminal trespass for an incident on July 24 and was sentenced to 180 days, all suspended but the 13 days he already spent in jail, and 180 days of unsupervised probation. He must also pay $1,308.61 in restitution and have no contact with the victims in the case. If he completes probation, the charge will be reduced to a Class A misdemeanor.

Brad Jermaine Halton, 44, Minot, was sentenced on Friday to 10 years in prison, with a requirement that he serve three years, followed by three years of supervised probation for Class B felony delivery of cocaine on July 16, 2019. A second Class B felony delivery of cocaine charge against Halton was dismissed under the terms of a plea deal. He will receive credit for one day already served in jail. Judge Todd Cresap also ordered Halton to obtain a chemical dependency evaluation and to pay $775 in court costs.
According to court documents, Halton had been accused of selling 3.5 grams of cocaine for $250 to a confidential informant working for the Ward County Narcotics Task Force on July 16, 2019, and then selling 7 grams of cocaine for $500 on Aug. 1, 2019. Both deals took place at a Minot bar.

Alfredo Deleon Jr., 41, Minot, was sentenced on Friday to five years in prison, with a requirement that he serve three years, for being in possession of a picture of a partially clothed 14-year-old girl in August 2019.
Judge Todd Cresap also ordered Deleon to serve five years of supervised probation, to register as a sex offender, and to have no contact with the victim and to pay $525 in court costs.
Deleon will receive credit for 331 days already served in the Ward County Jail, plus 47 days off his sentence for good behavior.
Deleon was convicted by a jury in September 2020 of the Class C felony possession of child pornography charge. He was acquitted of having sex with the girl.

Jovanta Marquez Johnson, 27, Detroit, Mich., has been charged with tying up a man and a woman, robbing them at gunpoint and threatening to kill them at a northeast Minot apartment complex on Tuesday, according to Minot police.
He has been charged with two counts of Class B felony armed robbery, two counts of Class C felony terrorizing and two counts of Class C felony felonious restraint in district court in Minot.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Johnson, who was known to the victims as “Jay,” had been helping someone move into another apartment and had been staying at the apartment as a guest. The male victim had gone into a back room to make a phone call and the woman was watching television in a bedroom. Johnson then ran past the bedroom and confronted the male victim in the back room while holding a gun. Johnson pointed the gun at the other man. Johnson said he would have killed the other man if they were in Detro
