Oregon State lands its fourth Division I transfer as Minnesota guard Tre’ Williams commits Updated May 02, 2021; Oregon State secured its fourth Division I transfer for the upcoming 2021-22 men’s basketball season Saturday when Minnesota guard Tre’ Williams committed to the Beavers. A 6-foot-5, 200-pound guard, Williams played two years for the Gophers before placing his name into the NCAA transfer portal about a month ago. Williams was among several Minnesota players to transfer after the school made a coaching change, hiring Ben Johnson to replace Richard Pitino. Williams is Oregon State’s fifth incoming player for the 2021-22 season. The Beavers previous secured commitments from forward Ahmad Rand (Memphis) guard Xzavier Malone-Key (Fairleigh Dickinson) and center Chol Marial (Maryland). OSU has also signed JC guard Dashawn Davis.

Memphis transfer forward Ahmad Rand lands at Oregon State, eligible to play next season Updated Jan 18, 2021; Ahmad Rand, a 6-foot-8 forward who played three games at Memphis earlier this men’s basketball season, has transferred to Oregon State. Rand enrolled for OSU classes this winter, but is ineligible to play this season. Rand is the second signee for OSU’s upcoming class, joining Dashawn Davis, a 6-3 guard. Another guard, Fairleigh Dickinson transfer Xzavier Malone-Key, has committed to OSU. Rand signed with Memphis last April after playing two years at USC Salkehatchie. As a freshman at Salkehatchie, Rand averaged 4.3 blocked shots a game. Last season Rand averaged 9.8 points and 8.2 rebounds a game at Salkehatchie.
