Former two-term Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino was in Plattsburgh Tuesday as he kicked off his second run for governor of New York.
Astorino is barnstorming upstate and stopped in front of Plattsburgh City Hall Tuesday afternoon.
“I’m here in Plattsburgh to announce that I’m officially running for governor of New York state, Astorino said. And I’m excited to do that. It is a great state. It is a big state. The North Country deserves better than what it’s been getting out of Albany. And I’m in it to win it. And we will shock the world come next November.”

Another Republican entered next year’s race for governor Tuesday, with former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino throwing his hat in the ring for the party’s nomination.
Astorino, who also ran for governor in 2014, said he wants to focus his campaign on revitalizing New York’s economy, curbing corruption in Albany, and boosting education.
“The problem has been not just Andrew Cuomo … but this whole system up here has to be fixed,” Astorino said. “It’s broken and unfortunately the people of New York have responded by leaving.”

Former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino was in Albany on Tuesday to officially launch his campaign for governor once again.
“I m here in Albany to announce that I m running for governor. We have a state that, like this building behind us with danger signs, it is falling apart and it s been that way for quite a while,” Astorino said pointing to the State Capitol building. “Andrew Cuomo has been an unmitigated disaster. He s corrupt, we know that. But even worse than his corruption is his inability to fix this state in the last 10 years.”
