Nike Dunk High is set to arrive later this year.
Accompanied by a mock-up (pictured above), the continuation of Yoon Ahn‘s AMBUSH x Nike partnership is set to dress the reimagined take on the dunk in “Deep Royal Blue/White-Pale Ivory-Black.” The shoe is expected to feature a premium white leather base accented by deep blue panels and black midfoot Swooshes that extend beyond the heel. Additional branding should come in the form of “AMBUSH” marked tongue tags, printed insoles and 3D heel counters. Elevating the shoe will be an off white midsole and contrasting blue rubber outsole.

Nike, Inc. has been the official outfitter of the Georgetown Hoyas since 1985 only three years after Michael Jordan‘s UNC Tar Heels vanquished the Hoyas in the 1982 NCAA Championship game and for the last decade-plus the team has worn Jordan Brand uniforms and footwear while receiving several special PEs. Now, the Jumpman is seemingly drawing from Hoya Saxa’s signature navy and gray shades for an Air Jordan 3 “Midnight Navy.”
Though there’s no Georgetown-specific branding, the look is all Hoya hoops. Uppers are made of a tumbled navy leather, surrounded by a smooth navy mudguard and perforated gray eyestay piece. Collars and tongues are done up in gray as well, with the latter featuring a navy Jumpman graphic and trim. Signature elephant print arrives on mudguards and heel pieces alike, while the plastic navy heel tab boasts a large Air Jordan graphic. At the end of 2020, Titi Finlay, social media manager at Laced and Nike Air Max 90 guest-designer, posted a tile on Instagram to her 7,700 followers with a simple message: “We don’t want women’s exclusives. We want inclusive sizing.” In just over 24 hours, the post had been shared over 2,000 times.
Women have fought long and hard to be treated equally in the sneaker industry but being a female sneaker fan continues to be a bittersweet experience. Lack of inclusive sizing is still too common and women’s-exclusive models, like the recent Dunk Disrupt, often miss the mark and are chunky, slimmed down, or fashion-ized versions of a great sneaker that women really just wanted in their own size.

To mark the start of a new decade, Jordan Brand has prepared the Air Jordan 5 Low “Chinese New Year” for 2021.
Expressing a “Sail/Chile Red/Opti Yellow/Pearl White” color scheme, the upper of the shoes features a tear-away canvas covering that can be removed to reveal a hidden pattern. Aside from Jumpman motifs appearing on the tongue and printed insole, additional detailing comes in the form of a scroll style “AIR JORDAN” badge on the underside of the tongue, “ACTION” expressed behind the medial netting and a banner patch at the rear. Elevating the shoe is a matching Air-assisted midsole with red hits and a translucent rubber outsole. Finally, each pair comes packaged in a specially designed box that carries the pattern hidden below the tear-away cover.
