GREATER NOIDA: In preparation for the second vaccination dry run slated for January 11, a training session was held in the rural areas of Jewar, Dadri and Dankaur on Thursday where about 150 ANMs and facilitators were given training by the district immunisation officer. The training included steps on how to operate the CoWin-20 app, verify a beneficiary and how to vaccinate. The district magistrate meanwhile has flagged the network issue related to CoWin-20 app found during the first dry run held on Monday to Lucknow for redressal, where an increase in server capacity of the app may be looked at for the actual vaccination day.

Donald Trump s supporter who was killed in police firing during the violence on Thursday (IST) at the US Capitol in Washington had tweeted hours before the riots and said nothing will stop us .
The deceased, identified as Ashli Babbit, was a veteran Donald Trump supporter and was constantly tweeting about the Capitol riots.

The state government has decided to withdraw a case lodged during an anti-land acquisition protest organised in 2011 by the residents of Bhatta Parsaul village in Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida) district, a state legislator said on Sunday.
The Mayawati government had lodged the case against unidentified people at Dankaur police station in Gautam Budh Nagar for allegedly kidnapping two government officials, and assaulting and abusing a policeman.
The Yogi Adityanath government ordered the withdrawal of the case last week but the prosecuting officer has yet to move an application on the matter. BJP MLA Dhirendra Singh, who represents the district’s Jewar seat in the Assembly, claimed that the government decided to withdraw the case following his efforts.

GREATER NOIDA: The GB Nagar district administration recently issued a notification under Section 4 of the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act for constructing six railway over bridges in Dadri and Dankaur villages. The administration had to opt for the provisions of the Act as it failed to purchase land directly from the villagers of Astauli, Maycha, Rithori, Ajayabpur, Ramgarh and Bodaki villages.
A total of 55 chunks spanning over 4.24 hectares are needed for construction of the bridges for Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Gautam Budh Nagar university will also carry out a social impact assessment (SIA) study and will be paid Rs 2.65 crore for the same. The university will also examine the impact of the freight corridors in Dadri and Bodaki villages.
