Bunga Bunga owners in £3m court fight over Covid claim

The owners of Bunga Bunga – the London nightclub once frequented by Prince Harry – are preparing a legal battle to recover millions of pounds in an insurance dispute. Inception Group, co-founded by Duncan Stirling and Charlie Gilkes, paid £130,000 for comprehensive annual insurance cover for 11 bars, restaurants and clubs in London, including Mr Fogg’s, Maggie’s and the Barts speakeasy. The group filed a claim in March last year after Prime Minister Boris Johnson told people to stay away from bars and restaurants, triggering an immediate collapse in revenues. Letters: The SNP has put paid to independence for a generation

IT is with despair that I look at what s going on in the SNP both over the weekend and today ( Allies outraged as Cherry sacked from SNP front bench position , The Herald, February 2). I ask myself: does the current leadership really want to win the May election and do they still want independence? Recent behaviour casts great doubt on either of these aims. I have to think that I appear to have wasted more than 40 years campaigning for independence when it reaches the current state of affairs. Boris Johnson and the rest of the unionist parties can rest easy as the SNP, as currently run, has little intention of achieving the party s avowed aim. It looks as though all it wants is to string along supporters and collect their subs.

British pie week

British pie week 3rd Mar 2016 11:53am | By James Clark It is no secret that British adventurer, Phileas J Fogg, can be a little eccentric. In celebration of his favourite British dish, he’s offering his famous pies for no more than a quid during British pie week. Feast on Mr Fogg’s homemade Dedham Vale beef, suet pastry and home smoked Dingley Dell bacon pie with mashed potatoes, British greens and braising liquor from the 7th to the 11th of March, from 12pm until 4.30pm. Mr Fogg’s Tavern is the eighth project from Charlie Gilkes’ and Duncan Stirling’s Inception Group and houses London’s largest collection of gins. Based on the adventures of Jules Verne’s fictional explorer, Phileas Fogg, Mr Fogg’s Tavern has an upstairs downstairs theatrical theme with a Victorian pub on the ground floor and a refined Gin Parlour (I love gin) and Salon upstairs.
