KUALA LUMPUR: The train driver involved in the LRT Kelana Jaya line train mishap has tested negative for drugs.
Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the 32-year-old driver went to the Dang Wangi police headquarters on Tuesday (May 25). We called him up to perform a drug test. He tested negative, he said when contacted Tuesday.
So far, there is no need to record the driver s statement in the course of the investigation, he added. We only called him to conduct the urine test. If there is a need, we will assist the special investigation panel formed by the Transport Ministry, he added.

Bangkok, May 25 (EFE).- At least 213 people were injured, dozens of them seriously, as two trains collided in a Kuala Lumpur subway tunnel late, official sources said Tuesday.
“At least 47 people with significant injuries have been transferred to the hospital,” Transport Minister Wee Ka Siong told the media, following the late Monday night crash.
Authorities have opened an investigation to determine the reasons for the incident.
The head of the Dang Wangi police station, one of the main in the Malaysian capital, Zainal Abdullah, told media that a self-driving train carrying dozens of passengers crashed at about 8:45 pm on Monday (12:45 GMT) with an empty train on manual drive.
