LRT train mishap: Victims can contact Prasarana for items left behind

PETALING JAYA: Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (Prasarana) is taking a count of personal belongings left behind by victims of Monday (May 24) night’s crash to be reunited with their owners. The operator of the urban rail services including the LRT Kelana Jaya line said on Facebook that anyone who left their belongings can contact its Crisis Hotline at 014 737 1330 or email recovery2021@prasarana.com.my. Earlier, Prasarana said the LRT Kelana Jaya service resumed operation at 6am on Tuesday (May 25). It said the operation will run on a single track and supported by a free shuttle bus service after last night’s incident which left 213 people hurt, 47 of them sustaining more serious injuries.

It should have been moving south heading towards Dang Wangi station but moved north instead and caused the crash with TR81 that was carrying 213 passengers,” he said.

Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the police will also assist the special investigation panel team established by the Transport Ministry. “Currently, we will assist the team in conducting further investigations. We will see whether it is necessary to call up the 32-year-old driver who also suffered minor injuries in the crash to aid investigations,” he told Bernama during a monitoring session at a shopping mall around Kuala Lumpur following the enforcement of stricter Movement Control Order (MCO) standard operating procedures (SOP) that begun today, including limiting the duration that customers could spend at retail outlets to a maximum of two hours.
