On Wednesday 28th April 2021 we’re looking at this extraordinary piece about a standoff over refugees between Greece and Turkey. We’ll be interviewing Istanbul-based journalist Mitra Nazar, who sailed with the Turkish coast guard to report on allegations that boatloads of migrants and refugees crossing the Aegean Sea from Turkey to the island of Lesbos were being pushed back by the Greek authorities.

On Wednesday 17th February we’re looking at this extraordinary piece about the blast that devastated central Beirut in August last year. We’ll be interviewing the Beirut-based author, Daisy Mohr, who was on the scene 20 minutes after the explosion occurred. We’ll be talking to Daisy about the resilience and solidarity of Beirut’s residents, the battle for accountability in a country plagued by political corruption, and what it’s been like living in a shattered city at a time of economic crisis and the Covid-19 pandemic.
