At the DG Reading Club we take a fascinating long read from our archive and discuss it with the journalist who wrote it.
On Wednesday 28th April 2021 we’re looking at this extraordinary piece about a standoff over refugees between Greece and Turkey. We’ll be interviewing Istanbul-based journalist Mitra Nazar, who sailed with the Turkish coast guard to report on allegations that boatloads of migrants and refugees crossing the Aegean Sea from Turkey to the island of Lesbos were being pushed back by the Greek authorities.
The event takes place between 7-8pm on Zoom and is
free and open to all. Participants will be able to put their questions to Mitra. Sign up here (only one sign-up needed per household) and you’ll receive log-in details from Eventbrite by email.
