LEWIS TOWNSHIP – County engines responded to a chimney fire in Northumberland County that shifted to a working structure fire early Monday morning.
The Muncy Volunteer Fire Company and the Muncy Township Fire Company rolled out to a fire on the 600 block of Murray Road in Lewis Township, Northumberland County at around 1 a.m. for a chimney fire that spread to the roof of the building.
Nobody was injured, Doug Funk, the chief of the Warrior Run Area Fire Department, said.
The building’s roof had a number of different layers, which created void spaces that allowed the fire to spread across the length of the roof, according to Funk.
