Boaz police seek information on man charged in Colorado homicide

Boaz police are seeking the public s help locating a man who d been slated for trial Tuesday on homicide charges in Colorado Springs, according to Chief Josh Gaskin. Stephen Cruz Sandoval, 22, was visiting family Monday in Boaz; he left Monday night and has not been seen since, Gaskin said in a Facebook post. A warrant has been issued on the homicide charge by authorities in Colorado Springs. He may be driving a silver Honda CR-V, 1997 to 2001 model. Anyone with information about Sandoval is asked to direct message the Boaz Police Department Facebook page or call the department. According to published news reports from the time of the crime, Sandoval is accused of a shooting in Fountain, Colorado, in February 2020. He was arrested a day later, about five hours away in Borger, Texas, where authorities say he had fled with a 17-year-old girl.
