Publicis Groupe’s Zenith Sydney office has appointed Laura Boatman as head of digital. Boatman joins from Vizeum where she was group digital and technology director.
She fills the role left vacant by the departure of Mark Johnson in September 2019, when he left to join Foxtel as head of digital. While the search for his replacement was underway, the digital client leads reported into the Sydney general manager, Jonny Cordony.
Boatman will commence in her new role later this month, and will report into the agency’s national head of digital and data, Joshua Lee.

In her new role Boatman will be responsible for providing strategic leadership in product development and process.

Kuro replaces Hazel Jane’s wine bar this spring at the Edge complex along the Eastside Beltline trail. Hazel Jane’s closed last September after less than a year. The closure was partially due to the financial troubles stemming from the ongoing health crisis.
Located next to chef Kevin Gillespie’s restaurant Cold Beer, Kuro will focus on seafood and serve a mix of Japanese fare and ingredients fused with Soul food dishes. Both chefs say they have great “respect” for Japanese cuisine and experience with recipe development and the cooking of Japanese foods.
AE Tactical invests in self defence with women in mind

Self defence training is among one of the many services offered by equipment, procurement, and support solutions specialist AE Tactical. But with an upsurge in safety concerns in TT and reports of violence against women, the company is in the process of repackaging its defence training model to create one especially with women in mind.
“Currently, I can’t elaborate too much on any of those initiatives just yet, but they are to enhance the safety of women with training that is well-founded on principles and techniques that are known to build a level of skill and competence… by teaching critical survival skills such as situational awareness and physical counter-measures,” AE s managing director Luke Hadeed told Business Day. The programme is expected to be implemented in March.

It was a year chock-full of being inventive for Kirk Matthews.
The New Mexico-based musician, like many others, had his livelihood interrupted in March when the pandemic nixed live shows.
Yet he continued on.

“This year has been good one day and bad the next,” Matthews says. “I’m trying to keep busy, just like everyone else has.”
At the beginning of the pandemic, Matthews was in the interim stages of preproduction on his new record, “The Color of Rust.”
WEST CHESTER â At least two borough restaurants have defied the governorâs order forbidding indoor dining.
West Chester Borough Police contacted Market Street Grill and Pennâs Table on Dec. 12 after receiving a complaint notifying the department that patrons were eating inside. Police wanted to ensure that the eateries were aware of the governorâs order.
Police then forwarded names of the restaurants over to the enforcement group of the state Department of Agriculture. One hundred fifty businesses were non-compliant and received warnings from the Department of Agriculture.
